The Christmas Letter

This year started with such potential

And like this rhyming scheme, essential

School went on and classes we took

All sociality we sadly forsook

Scraping cash and earning A’s

Life was crazy in so many ways

School ended with shouts of joy

But then it was off to find employ

I found a vet with a desperate need

To from an employee be utterly freed

When in I walked, she was fired

An to my delight I was rightly hired

Jessie was off to the nutty house

Forced to work like a Cinderella mouse

She worked for a mean and ugly matron

Who really should have been a patron

So after some yelling and some screaming

Jessie left with a face all gleaming

She talked to a nice and friendly cook

Who decided to hire her for work

This cook was then right after fired

And two other’s jobs were expired

But somehow Jessie held on strong

And managed to stay the summer long

The summer’s rest goes as thus

A groundhog caught that made a fuss,

Nasty spiders crawling out at night

To give poor innocents a dreadful fright,

And a crazy kitten’s sharp tooth and claw

While on any finger it loved to gnaw

Now at school we are again

Making our way in the world of men

Struggling again to make the grade

Summer memories quickly fade

Scraping cash and earning A’s

Life gets crazy in so many ways
